Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
Thanks, Alex. I have a bunch of 955 batteries but I thought I’d lighten up a handheld rig with these. Now I’m able to power up but the unapproved message comes up and there’s no run time even though these are chipped. Admins should correct this info on the 915 in OP.
I purchased 3 OEM Canon BP-915 batteries from Ebay and they don't work on the OG Komodo. The camera doesn't boot up (just goes into a boot cycle). When I put one in the sled next to a bp-955 an unsupported battery warning comes up. Has anyone gotten these to work?
Well, first hiccup for me. "Unapproved battery warning" even though I'm using Canon OEM 955s. Removed battery and camera shut down even though there was another battery in the second slot. Contacted Red and sent a bug report.
Yeah, I think this is one of the consequences of a boutique camera company being bought by a major multinational. Although I did find Red support to be very responsive and far more helpful than Canon, with whom dealing with is a nightmare... Yes, I recall Jared being a presence here and on...
Ugh. Just commented on that thread. Considering rolling back to 1.8.3. How do you send a bug report to Red? I was only able to start a service request last time…
ELQ is OK for talking heads? I did some test on landscapes the other day and there was definitely some weird stuff going on in the details (leaves, etc.)...
I've kind of given up on VND. Whether on the Komodo or other cameras there's just too much color shift at higher strengths. Only solid ND for me from now on...
I do primarily docs and I've been in the AF world for awhile with FX/canon c cameras. Now that I picked up a Komodo (OG) I'm trying to hone my manual focus skills again. Does anyone have any tips? Which focus tools do you find most useful? Thanks
I purchased some Phantom LUTS recently and when I load them onto my Komodo they look super saturated as if I'm "double Lutting" :) The inbuilt Red rec709 LUTS look fine. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Thanks
