Michael Notar

Michael was born in San Clemente, California but has lived in the Coeur d'alene area since he was three years old. He found inspiration in the natural beauty and wildlife of the region and desired a medium to capture it. A mix of scientific and creative, photography was a perfect match for him.

He attended Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California, and founded Shutterworks upon graduating. After several years of photography, he crossed over into video production after working on numerous TV commercials.

Though he considers himself a “lighting guy fascinated by electricity,” he has worked in all departments of production. Whether its grip and electric or running audio, he is used to multi tasking on set. We have had the pleasure of working alongside nature photographer Tom Mangelsen, golf legend Arnold Palmer, camera operators from House M.D., and “America’s Veterinarian” Dr. Marty Becker.
