Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
This is an open letter to Red.
Scarlet-X is not Scarlet. Since 2008 Scarlet has been a modular camera in two well known flavors: Fixed and Interchangeable. They were touted at 3K, 120 fps, and with HDRx at 60 fps. All for a price "around $6K," according to Ted Schilowitz who said this many many...
IF Scarlet is still a 2/3" camera with an interchangeable lens model, and at this point I would consider that a BIG IF, I hope RED still has plans for a c-mount option. And I hope it would come very soon after release. Of course I could do the measurements and get one machined myself per my own...
Jarred mentioned an SSD to CF card adapter in passing. RED, is this still on the "to-do" list? I have a RED 16gb CF card, and would love to use it with Scarlet. Any and all information you can give us would be much appreciated and well received :-)
RED Team,
Are you planning a Micro 4/3 electronic mount for Scarlet Cinema? This would be a very welcome addition, and to my knowledge is an open format used by Olympus and Panasonic. Any info you could offer would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Hi,
I have been following RED since day 1, and I am saving money for an Epic-S. I am a shooter, and not expertly computer savvy. I have always edited using a Mac, started 10 years ago with iMovie (when it actually was useful) and a G3 iMac DV, and now work in Final Cut Studio 2 on a Mac Mini. My...
I just finished work on a promotional trailer for a film I would like to make, as director/DP among many other roles. I wanted to show something to potential investors as part of the pitch. So, while this isn't shot on RED, I would like your opinions on it and the cinematography, especially. You...
According to another member of DVXuser.com WHO ATTENDED IBC, there was a working Scarlet prototype at IBC. For those of you that were there, can you confirm? If so, any details?

I understand that the 50mm and up cover the full frame 35mm sensor and the 25mm and 35mm cover about 5.5K. Is the 5.5k at the 3:2 aspect or 16:9? If it is the 3:2, could the wider lenses hold up in full frame 16:9? 2.4:1? What happens at the corners, light fall off and/or loss of sharpness...
I have access to a couple of rolls of Agfa XT-320 for 35mm, but it's pretty old and hasn't been stored ideally. I was going to shoot a color chart to help with color grading on my next project, as I want to emulate the the Agfa look. Does any one have some stills from a color chart shot on Agfa...
Jim, Jarred and RED team:
I am very excited about the Scarlet Cinema and RED mini primes. I have the lighting and sound equipment and new computer/software to handle the workflow. I can't wait to buy Scarlet. I've had the opportunity to do some limited testing on the RED One (due to Peter...
OK,
I plan to buy the FF35 scarlet after they come out. It'll probably take a while for me to save enough money to buy it, but after I graduate, I will be making pretty good money. That said, I only want to put the best glass on the front. I don't care so much about autofocus and auto exposure...
What were some of the popular Kodak film stocks from the early 90's? I'm watching Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, and while the movie itself is questionable, I LOVE the look of the film, particularly that film stock. Any ideas?
