Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
Hi Gabriel,
Best thing to do is contact RED support and submit a ticket along with the camera's pin number and a log.
https://support.red.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
To check the pin:
Menu > System Settings > System Status > Camera Info > Camera Pin
To Export a log:
Menu > Maintenance > Save...
Does the image look like a 'log' image?
You may have either the 'log' tool enable under the monitoring tools:
or under Top EVF, do you have image/ lut selected,
Then under image/ LUT do you have 709 and your LUT selected?
FCP has not updated to the current version of the RED SDK to support this as far as I am aware.
I believe the only current places you can use this feature would be in REDCINE-X, DaVinci Resolve (19.4) and Premiere Pro (24.5), Daylight and Baselight (in Beta), can't recall the others off the top...
Yes it is.
9 divided by 16 = 0.5625 to be precise or if you want 4:5 that would be 0.8.
If you are on a Komodo, Komodo-X or DSMC3 camera, go into: Monitoring > Guides > Frame Guide 1,2 or 3 > Set Mode to :User then input the number. This will then translate to any resolution you are shooting...
Yes they do work. When you attach the EVF to the DSMC3 Adapter A for the first time the EVF will get updated to support the new features. If it's then used on a DSMC2 body again a DSMC2 F/W will be re-loaded.
There are some details on the buttons in the operations guide article...
As Björn said above, if the lenses support Cooke /i then the RED RF to PL mount would support it without the need for any other boxes. If its a 'dumb' lens that then the DCS box or CMotion would need to update their device to communicate with the Raptor.
I know the CMotion has Raptor camera...
There is a neat system from a company called DCS. They have an encoder box that can inject the lens data into Raptor via the EXT port (or control port if you have a breakout box/ cable), I believe it can also support Preston motors, not sure about CMotion motors.
I'd give their site a look for...
As Phil said BT's new stuff is cool - I've been playing with it recently. (https://www.brighttangerine.com/prod...pport-systems/).
It has a standard dovetail top and it worked rather nicely - pretty cool tech too!!!
Control Ring via the mount is not compatible on Komodo or V-Raptor. Only supported on RF lenses that have control rings.

I saw a thread a few weeks ago asking about what ever happened to the Dragon VV sensors and what they were used on but I can't find it now. Well, Dark Crystal was fully on Dragon VV with one shot on an A7s underwater.
We also combined it with the KipperTie Gold 1 OLPF, we tested a few in prep...
Hello All,
Looking for used RR-X's (or if new will need to be under retail) for sale to be shipped to the U.K as soon as possible really.
Already purchased one off this forum so thought I'd try my luck and see if I can find another !
Cheers in advance !

Hello All,
Just a quick question is it possible to apply a centre dot instead of a cross on the camera ? Got a DP asking for it and the rental house looking around the menu's ands can't seem to find anything?
Any help would be great !

Hello All,
Ive just been having a discussion with a couple of people about a recent video that was posted complaining about the cost of RED's Lemo cables for their monitors. I tried to justify why LEMO cables are typically more expensive than an SDI or any other connector for such reasons as ...
