Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
Specifically looking for Mac drivers for their Thunderbolt card reader. Apparently they are not the same as the USB3 version and I'm under the gun. Thanks!
Edit: disregard. Troubleshot with a friend over the phone. Apparently the Codex Server software needs to be running to read from the...
Windows 8.0, Redcine Build 22.4.32531 x64
Avid MXF's don't finalize and generate an AAF, this breaks the MXF files which (if imported into Avid with the MDB file) report a duration of 11:59:16:23.
This only happens when exporting A/V files, video only export reads properly in Avid.
Audio only...
What needs to be damaged for an R3D file to report as "offline" in Redcine-X?
I'm just trying to understand the file structure a bit more, like where is the threshold of damage between a corrupt frame and a totally offline file? Damage to/incomplete writing of the file header?
Any reading...
Two requests:
1) Can we have an option to buffer frames in both directions? As I find slates and I need to go back frames, it can get slow as they aren't buffered like it would be if I were playing forward.
2) How about a shortcut key for set slate offset?
I'm running Redcine X beta 21 (this also happens in build 17) but whenever I use the RED Rocket in REDcine X for large transcode exports I experience a MEMORY_MANAGEMENT blue screen crash. This is the only time a blue screen crash happens and I'm fairly sure it's not due to bad RAM as I...
Lavender scrims, also known as 1/2 singles, came up in conversation between myself and another DP while we were browsing a grip house. He mentioned that they were popular for beauty work in the past.

I've been brought on late to the process with an upcoming commercial. Our director is in love with the idea of a Briese light (focusable parabolic umbrella) as the key light for a number of our set ups. Of course, due to rental cost this basically destroys the lighting/grip budget and limits...
I have multiple clips that are an hour and a half or longer in duration in Redcine-X build 17.27144 on PC w/ a Red Rocket. The first clip in the queue exports to Quicktime just fine while the second will stall at 99%. This has happened twice to me regardless of what clip is in queue position #2...
Update 7/21/13
Reset RMD is now available with Premiere Pro CC support as part of a collection of commercial apps known as Project Tools. Project Tools include two other time saving utilities for Premiere Pro editors working with RED footage. Why does this app cost money now? To read Premiere...
If I do a basic sequence edit in Redcine-x, go to File -> Export (shallow) and select FCP XML, and then import the resulting file into Premiere... everything appears fine except every clip in the timeline imports with a scale width/height of 0 under Effects Control > Motion.
The XML file...
