Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)
This is an accessories issue, but I'm just assuming that this mount is mostly used exclusively with the Red One now, so I'm posting here. I have a rail mounted, V-lock battery plate that started malfunctioning a good while ago, and it has only gotten worse. At even the slightest bump, there...
This is the first time I've gone into post knowing I want a final 4K version for DCP conversion. I'm editing low resolution proxies in Final Cut and letting the colorist relink everything. However, these are the questions that have me at a stand-still. We shot in 4K HD with 1.85:1 crop marks. So...
Which should be used for the time base and fps? 24 or 23.98. I have had people tell me both. Movement looks jittery at 23.98 and more filmic at 24. Coming from DSLRs shooting 23.98, so just wondering what I should be using on the Red One.
I rented 18mm, 25mm, and 50mm Cooke Panchros to use with the Red One MX for a short this weekend. When I try to set the back focus, it simply doesn’t work. The Cookes won’t focus no matter how far I turn the back focus at the set distance. Maybe I’m just doing it wrong. Can anyone offer advice...
I’m shooting a new film that has a few scenes at night. I’m shooting on the Red One MX and I would love to use Cooke Panchro/i glass, but it having a 2.8 f/stop, my DP thinks it will be too slow for the night shots and the footage will be extremely noisy. The scenes take place in a night club...
I made this for one of my journalism classes at the University of Tennessee. It’s only the second video I’ve made with my RED ONE, so I’m still learning the ropes. Filmed with 35mm Rokinon Cine Lens, 3K RAW/REDCODE36 (it’s for a class, I wasn’t about to spend my time waiting on clips to export...
I know, I’m sure this question has been asked countless times. I searched the forum, but couldn’t find any specific threads and all the web search results are outdated. I just picked up a R1MX and have no clue how to go about post-production. I’m editing on FCP7, so what are the differences...
Just picked up some Nikon glass for my new R1MX and I was wondering if anyone knew of any alternative solutions to the RED and All-Star Nikon mounts? Been Googling all day but to no prevail.

Just broke the bank on a RED One package and having strictly Canon glass, I need to find something cheap for the time being so I can shoot test footage. I’ve been all over eBay looking for some vintage PL mount lenses for dirt cheap. Do you all have any suggestions?
Andrew
I know there are countless other threads on this, but a lot of them are cluttered, and I’m looking for a quick response. I am completely new to the RED world so be gentle on my poor, unfortunate soul. Here’s the dealio, I’ve got about $8k to get started (maybe just a little more) and I’m really...
