  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Adam Howden

As a kid growing up in the country, Adam wasn’t particularly interested in sport like everyone else. Instead he grew up on a steady diet of VHS movies, BMXs and his Dad’s record collection.

Movies like First Blood, Deer Hunter, JAWS, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Top Gun and Alien were regulars in the Howden household.

Adam’s love of film was put into practice while studying photography at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and then later on with a Graduate Diploma in Cinematography at the Australian Film Television and Radio School.

From natural lighting period drama to dynamic fast-paced action scenes, Adam feels at home working in many styles of cinematography. His signature, however, is natural and authentic lighting.

Adam cites international cinematographers like Roger Deakins, Matthew Libatique and Emmanuel Lubezki as key influences, along with Australian cinematographers such as Greig Fraser and Adam Arkapaw.

Whether it’s working with professional actors or documentary subjects, Adam has a great amount of respect for talent in front of and behind the camera.

For Adam Howden the image is everything — but it is never at the expense of the production budget or the relationship with his collaborators.
