  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED #712 for sale

FYI, We've decided to execute Stage 2 of the EPIC X Upgrade Program.

All,

Just to clear something up that a lot of people have been asking about. The eBay system won't let me put in anything OTHER than PayPal as the payment option. That's making some folks skittish. Me too, as I wasn't planning on forking over a pile of dough to PayPal anyway.

Here's how I'm handling payment. The winning bidder is responsible for sending a $500 non-refundable deposit via PayPal. The remainder of the camera price needs to be handled via:

1) Bank-issued cashiers check

or

2) Bank-to-bank wire transfer (I'll provide my bank info)

Upon verifying that the funds have completely cleared and are in my account, I will then ship the camera and all ancillary items to the address provided by the auction winner.

I have rescinded the reserve on the auction, and have posted a Buy-It-Now price. I've been getting caught in the middle of managing and communicating between multiple offers and think that I ought to just let eBay do what it's good at. Feel free to email me with any questions you may have.

My understanding is that by selling the camera, you are actually forfeiting the stage 2 and stage 3 option for the buyer. You may want to remove this post before somebody at Red voids the trade-in allowance...

Jared, I think Andrew has a point. You may be on dangerous ground going the ebay route, although if there's no official transfer perhaps it's okay. Just would hate to see you get into a bind.

Jared, If I i buy this now can we do a signed contract that states you will make sure to take care of the upgrade to MX and the purchase of the Epic and that if that doesn't happen then I will get my money refunded to me and the camera package returned to you? thanks

All,

Andrew's post made me realize that I had not been clear in my auction listing about this. The auction winner and I can draw up a contract similar to what's happening with other camera sales, which is that I will remain owner of the camera with RED through the MX sensor upgrade and through delivery of EPIC X, at which point the buyer and I will transfer ownership of both cameras with RED (buyer paying transfer fees). The buyer would be responsible for either 1) sending in payment of the MX sensor and EPIC X deposit/full payment directly to RED on behalf of Camera #712, or 2) making that payment to me and I would pass that through to RED. I am still finding out which option RED will accept.

How we structure that contract, a la perpetual unlimited lease of the RED ONE etc until EPIC X delivery, is something we can work out.

I will be revising the offer up on the auction to reflect this. Thanks, Andrew for catching this!
