Is there any chance there could be a GPS or Homing Device Module for the Epic?

I would totally pay $10-$20 a month for a data plan for exact location of my EPIC at all times.

I've lost so much equipment to theft that this would be a dream come true for anything that has such a high price tag on it!

And if can can throw it onto escaping ships to track them through asteroid fields to other planets, that'd be great.

If it were a module... couldn't it be simply removed and discarded?

Assuming a thief knew the difference from one module to the next. I'm assuming the average person won't be able to take apart the whole camera in the amount of time it would take to locate and discard it. I'm assuming a module is cheaper than having it built in.

And I know of cars much cheaper than an EPIC brain with anti-theft gps built in.

They will learn.

It would be nice if you could lock a module on. Prehaps you could set the module to alarm. and If the devices moves more that X feet it sounds an alarm/dials home/messages security company.

The technology for the actual data receiving/sending part of a phone is so miniature nowadays (the phone part of the phone) that it can fit in a flexible bar code label. Stick it to the inside of the brain with two tiny wires feeding it tiny amounts of power to an internal battery.

I've said this so many times it's bloody exasperating. Just make sure it can be removed for those shooting undercover or in warzones.

YES! I'm glad you also see the advantage!

When it's all said and done, this is the most expensive item I own -- except for my house! I would do anything to avoid losing it to theft.

GPS module

GPS module

EPIC brains do have a built-in GPS receiver and the current position is data available to be recorded in the .R3D files.
