Tony,
You bought the set for $22,800 (19000+3800)
You had shipping expenses, custom, case to make and now you may have some maintenance.
You rent it for $360 a day.
Only for the shelf price you will need more than 60 days of rental to get return.
With the other expenses I assume it going to be around 80 days. Only after 80 days of rental you will start seeing a profit.
How many days a month will you be able to rent them?
How long do you think it will take to have the investment back? 10 months? a year? 2 years?
Isn't your rent rate too low? Shouldn't it be more in the €400 area?
And I hadn't calculated the 300mm!!!!

Yes - this is priced very agressively, but everything is a matter of request and demand and the RPPs haven't been popular and I'd rather have the lenses rented out 7 days per month at €270 than one day per month at €400 on average.

Good answer! PS: I think the RPPs have been overlooked by many, so what it needs is perhaps agressive pricing, good luck!

Yeah - we'll see. DPs in Denmark are pretty much swearing by the Ultra primes so it's going to take a while before they're convinced. I think most of them tried the 18-50 and 50-150 zooms and think the primes are the same build quality.

What worries me the most about the RED Primes is serviceability. Do I need to send a lens all the way to the US or Japan to get it serviced or can I expect a local lens tech to be able to fix it? How much "down time" do I get if I need to have something like a front element changed etc.

David - I'm not sure what your motivation is for posting this, but if the current price makes sense to me and my business then I don't see what the problem is?

Just for the record - the current pricing was never meant to be permanent. I'm just interested is in getting the RED Pro Primes out in the field because there's a lot of doubt about these lenses among DPs. If lowering the price will get them out there in the real world and the DPs try them and like them, then I will be more likely to rent them out for more at a later point.
