Check this short film shot on the Red One. It has some great special effects and really nice visuals. The color correction is very nice as well.

Click for the 720p version. There's also a 1080 version on youtube if you prefer. Just search The Raven 1080.

Enjoy!

well, my boss was actually the director and I was on set for the whole shoot. It was shot how he said it was. The color grading was done at Company3 in Santa Monica and there were some lens flares added in post as well as all the special effects. The DP was Andres Sanchez, a big music video director from Miami, and the special effects team was small. The compositing was done by the director himself I believe in After Effects.

I only said that because on all the photos I saw yesterday it was clearly master primes on the front of the cameras. Maybe it was just certain shots that were done with them.

You know what, I think you're right. I think they had both, but actually I think you're right and they used the Master Primes more. Good catch Jamie.

Yeah, the DP owned his own set of lenses, and I guess he had a couple of those. It definitely adds a lot.

Cool short!

Very nice!

Just curious, but is that KATA camera bag he's wearing the same one you guys used to carry the RED around LA?

Actually, the KATA bag belonged to one of the behind the scenes camera guys, and we originally had him carrying like an all black jansport, but thought the KATA bag looked much cooler.

Thanks for noticing though.

Permits were actually pulled for the alleyways, so we didn't have to do any sneaking around or hiding the camera.

Thanks Guys. We had a lot of fun making this film and only hope we can make a feature version. Let's all keep our fingers crossed.

I hope so, cause it had close to no story at all. It looked very very good, and clearly had a potential story - perhaps - for a feature film.

Yeah jesper, you don't really get the story in this piece. There is one, but the director decided to just show a small excerpt of the film where he could display what the visuals would look like and hopefully generate some excitement about what the project could look like.

I saw it as a teaser not as a self contained script. It made me go hmm wonder whats going on there, if I was a producer I would then ring you up and go whats going on here and arrange a coffee morning.
Clever marketing in my opinion.
