  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

White Balance

Since this is your first post, perhaps I can assume you aren't too familiar with the concept of shooting RAW? Forgive me if my assumption is incorrect. However, when shooting RAW, you are simply recording all the data that the sensor has access to. Something like white balance is only metadata and can be changed any time. I haven't shot with a RED but I am wondering if there is even an auto WB function?

In any case, I guess a simple answer to your question is maybe another question... "Why would it need to?"

Auto white balance is an option, and could be useful in certain situations. More likely than not, you'll be setting white balance and color adjustments manually via metadata on set, and then making more fine tuned adjustments in post. It's always a good idea when possible to provide color charts, white/grey/black reference points etc so post has a good starting point.

Yes, it works - just make sure the camera is pointed at a grey card.
