Hi,
we have a job which requires us to shoot and export in 4k for a 4k projection onto a wall.

i've tried searching the forum but am getting really confused.

basically i want to shoot in 4k, import and edit in FCP, conform it out if i have to and export into a 4k .mov, how do i do this?

i have very lil knowledge of RCX but don't mind giving it a shot. I've also used clipfinder before.

does digitalcinemalessons have a lesson which covers this?

thanks very much in advance
jason

I'm sure they have, but if you have used Clipfinder you know the right tool already.
– Edit in FCP with offline clips in any format you like transcoded by CF
– Conform the locked edit back to the original with CF
– Grade in Color 1.5.x from the source
– Output any 4K format they need (as long as Color offers it, like DPX)

thanks uli for your extremely prompt advice, we must be in the same timezones.

i will go to the stores now and get a copy of FCS3 and give it a try

Yes. FS3 with the REDCODE_Color_v4_0_beta_2 works. In the Setup tab, check for the "Resolution Presents" dropdown. You'll see the different 4K resolutions there. If you are using FS2, you are limited to 2K. At least, that's been my experience. Not sure if there's been an update on that.

Hope that helps.
