  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

OConnor O-Grips

This weekend after arriving home from NAB I was on a shoot with Nichelle Deaver and brought along a set of OConnor O-Grips to demo. I believe this was the first they were tested under fire on a US production. They performed flawlessly; actually they worked too well….I’m lucky to have gotten them back.

They worked great! Thank you again for bringing them to the shoot!

No problem- it was great to shoot with you again!

BTW- my old set of grips made me feel like the last production still at the end of the day....

It was great to see you guys at NAB. Great job with the new products. Excellent quality!

Looks like the handle bridge is (virtually) the multi-rod lens support I was dreaming about....
The center screw just needs to be longer with some thought toward variable length.
Then you just ditch the arms as its unlikely that anybody is going to do hand-held with a lens
that needs support (ie. typically long lenses and/or damn heavy lenses).
Unless they only have 1 lens....lets say big cooke/angie/RPZoom18-85.
But then I guess you could still use the handles...thinking out loud here.
thoughts?

Kinda. We would first have to lose the LWS holes, as the metalwork around them would block a dovetail plate from going through. And the center screw isn't "centered" when going to 15mm studio -- we would have to make it so that the center support post could shift camera right when going 15mm.

It's definitely on the list of potential stuff we're looking at, but I can't say right now exactly when we could start detailing. Will keep you filled in. Thanks for the input!

Jim

Cheers!
