  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

While we're all waiting for 4k monitors, the cameras are now 5k...

True, but who's going to be finishing to 5K? I think of Red 5K as True 4K.

I'd also like to know how much this thing will cost. Probably more than I'm willing to pay just now...

Would love to know the price... man I've died and gone to heaven this Monday... too much good news.

maybe i can frankenstein 4 playstation 3's together, and pop in 4 BD's and put it in the the display.

or not cause it's probably really dumb of me to think that.

awesome.

another 3.8K monitor

Oh, look... Another quad-HD monitor. There were several of these bad boys shown at CES a couple months back. Not that it's a big deal, actually quad-HD is where the industry is headed for broadcast and typical delivery. It makes the most sense based on where it's coming from. I just wish they wouldn't call quad-HD "4K" because it isn't.

I'll see if the TV Logic one is on the show floor tomorrow, but I'm guessing it's not cheap.

The quad-input is a bit dated. HDMI 1.4 is shipping in consumer devices now and it handles quad-HD in 10bit up to 48fps. Just sayin... OTOH, there's no 4K single connection for SDI. And if the monitor has image quality to match it's impressive pixel count, then I bet it would look dead sexy connected to a RED Rocket fed by the RR Breakout Box.

I'm in the market for a new monitor and I'm set on the new Panny 13th-gen 54~58" 3D plasma. But I'd go 4K over 3D if the image quality and price are in alignment...
