Something is definitely wrong here and it is more than a slight gamma shift (thats what i thought it was before). Using latest Redalert beta.

I am trying to output a 1k Proreshq quicktime from a clip with an extreme curve applied. They look nothing like eachother side by side.

Monitor is calibrated to 2.2 and quicktime fcps2 compatibility checked. tiffs and dpxs render fine.

Whats the deal? I swear to god I could render a curve in a few weeks ago. Any help appreciated.

Here's a screenshot.

Edit. So I just clicked on the metadata tab in Redalert and it looks exactly like the quicktime I rendered. The gamma I chose (Redlog) and possibly denoise, olpf, etc. settings are being rendered but not the curve. Is there a checkbox I'm missing in the render dialogue? Here is a screenshot of the same quicktime and Redalert just showing the metadata.

Ah damn. I thought it was just no curves applied to the proxies.

edit: ok, definitely no curves. i guess i didn't realize this because all the other options such as contrast are being applied to the renders.

Will we be able to render curves in the next build? I hate having to use the contrast and brightness sliders to adjust my exposure. And I definitely don't want to have to go through after effects for every single shot with a dpx or tiff sequence.

Graeme? please.

Why would this be? If it's rendering out, it doesn't need to put in a meta data curve, it should just render permanently into the image, shouldn't it?

Seems strange that it doesn't. As you say, perhaps it's coming in a new version?

We'll make it work in the next version released. Thanks for the feedback.

excellent! Thanks for the quick response. This was very important to me as red alert is the main component of my current workflow.

mate I had the same issue with it today... I did all my grade with the curves and tried to export qt proxies but they didn't look exactly like the grade... oh well... will have to redo elsewhere
