I have been ask to do a workflow for a little project shoot with the new RedOne MX sensor (build30) and edit with Avid (offline and online).

Next week we are doing some workflow test and wandering what should i know about that. Gonna create the offline with Redcine X (AAF, ALE, MXF) from editing in Avid Media Composer.

Any tricks to know for the offline/online conform ? or during the creation of the offline DNx ?

regards

If you're using Redcine-X 183, it has an issue where it duplicates Audio Track 1 onto Audio Track 2, leaving you without your second channel.

Also, switching debayer settings would cause me problems where it would appear to have changed, but continue to render files at previous debayer setting.

I would consider emailing redcinex at red dot com and try to get onboard their test pilot program. They have addressed these issues already.

As for online conform, it depends what you're using for online. But you'll probably want to consider a tool to bring your finished edit back into RCX for online conform.

I prefer one of these:

EDL2RCX - http://reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=42154
XML2RCX - http://reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=42478

Both work with Avid.

Thanks so much for the information James.
