I have a friend who needs very high quality, low compression artifact footage for an engineering project he is working on. So the first words out of my mouth were RED. Unfortunately, he cannot afford to rent a red and hire an operator to shoot footage for him and edit it, so I suggested he should look for stock footage. Does anyone know where to get decent RED stock footage in original RED r3d 4k files. He is interested in shots with a lot of blue sky and a lot of water shots, like streams and waterfalls.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Mammoth HD Footage Library (lots of RED Footage.... 4K, 3K, 2K, verticals - Scenics, Aerials, Wildlife, Lifestyle, Sports, and much more)

William:

How about underwater? I have over an hour of RED 4K shark footage. Also Space shuttle launch (STS122) - nice blue sky background - billowing rocket exhaust.

Try www.iris32.com - Developed by ex UHD world people and organizers of first RED NIGHT in Cannes in 2008. Amazing functions with their Flexformat technology. They render the clip already conform to your project if you don't want to deal with the R3D file.

I think this site could be the future of stock and actual r3d aquisition from the internet. The flexformat is a pretty smart idea.

Thanks David --- But the site will be only as good as what the guys will be uploading, and as who shoots with RED is just among the best :) you might be right. I think R3D can find its way out to the large PRO and SEMI PRO market.

Agree, but the concept is quite nice from the get go.
