  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Sony SR memory Card

I can't see it any way being affordable.

Hi Guys !

That would be a great memory card for all formats... think it will be very expensive but sounds very nice... anybody knows something about it ?

I dont know if it would work or not. But definately worth the trip to NAB in Las Vegas this year to find out (among other things related to RED).

Storage has always been part of a process. And larger capacities are just expected. Over two years now and the red only still has a 16 gig CF card option for our Red One.

Greame you are right, think it will cost a lot. The speed is really overdressed for redcode. But size and capacity as a solid state is very interesting in terms of a backup device. Think it will need also nearly no power. So two of them with a MacBook Pro will be a nice backup solution if you are far away from electricity.
Are there any hints on what size the SSDs for EPIC and Scarlet will be? I think thats the only way to go in the future. For sure CF also.... No more spinning media on cameras...

Actually, I think if it's a very fast device it might have larger power consumption. Just a normal SSD would fill your needs of backup.

Rainer,

sorry to tell but you are a bit late with that info,

this was already shawn and further discussed starting on 03-31-2010, 10:48 AM here at the forum in this tread:
