Hey Red guys,

Just wanted to drop you a quick suggestion about your previously announced plans to make a DSMC configurator with pricing etc. If it's still on the cards and you haven't already invested too much time and effort you may want to look at getting it done in interactive3d. It seems the best way to get a feel for how the modules all fit together. You could even have an integrated shopping cart.

I know you don't normally spend money on advertising in any way but it may be a great sales tool.

Take a look at http://www.aarkid.com

I'll fess up and say it's my brothers company. It's a shameless plug I know. Just check out the demos on the site and you'll know why I think it would be cool to do the DSMC configurator. I just want to see it for myself and play with it. It'd be really cool. You could pick out modules and have their specs pop up as you hover over them and play about with them in interactive 3d. Add one to your package and you would see it built on and a srollable stack of variations of your current set of modules stretch out below each of which you could pull apart and re-assemble interactively in 3d. Combined module/package specs in a boxout and a price breakdown with totals in another box.

I'm not sure what kind of costing he could give you on that, maybe I can bend his arm and get him to swing a deal.:wink5:

Hey that's really cool... pretty much exactly how I pictured a DSMC assembly/shopping tool

That would be a pretty awesome idea. It can get pretty confusing with all the modules and how they all work together, and there may be things that aren't compatible together, etc.

This is a must for many reasons, one of which is reduced unnecessary Q&A and customer support for RED crew. It's a no brainer and will save time and money to both RED and RED's customers, while looking great.

And I wouldn't stop at store configurator.
