Geodesic Dome Tent-portable

I'm using this: super affordable, easily transportable and lots of room for a theater on the larger ones....You can hang dark sheets inside as well.

I love those portable yurts! Living here in Orygun home of one of the oldest yurt companys around, (Pacific Yurts) I see them everywhere, Heck, you can rent one at some of the state campgrounds overlooking the Pacific ocean.

I've got a few of them in Baja....and most are pacific yurts. I LOVE the solar/Domes for portability, light-weight and i can set up a crew in the 30 footer---heck i can set up a theater for 50 people in it. The 18' is nice for a small work station and black it out myself.

Holy crap that seems like a ton of money for what is essentially a black ez up. Granted it sets up a little faster but jeez. I guess when you have a monopoly you can charge what ever you want.

Don't know how it is a monopoly. I guess someone could make a version and sell it for less. Do you really think this is a huge business that he makesa ton of money on?

Disclosure: I know the manufacturer and he's a working DP who is certainly not making a fortune on these tents. He's also a REDuser!

Its not actually, its very different. And its white on the outside and black on the inside, which is custom made to our industry needs. If this is what you need, its worth every penny.

BTW- This is where they come from:

Mitch, do you know if these are waterproof ? In case you're shooting outside and it starts raining ?

Yes, although at that point there's a lot of other places I'd rather be.

Can you get them equipped with hippie chicks?

.....not at all. We don't call them that anymore....GRANOLA GIRLS is the more commonly used term these days......now I'm definitely not knocking any of those groups since I'm a bit out there myself.

LOL
I know what you mean. I lived on the corner of Heigth and Lyon during the summer of '67. Rumor has that Gibby was somewhere in the back of a van playing his guitar.

Theses look great. I've always been in standard Easy Ups and man does a black tent get hot in the summer! Bookmarked!

And to those complaining about the price, take a look at the alternatives. Having something of quality that set ups this quick is a must for me. Also Easy ups aren't exactly cheap either.

.

I'm in the midst of developing a MUCH cheaper alternative to the 8x8 Village Blackout. Quick to set up, black interior, weather resistant.

Will be testing a prototype over the next several weeks, if anyone is interested post or PM me, but I'll make an official announcement when it's ready to go.

Has anybody looked at some of the popup icefishing huts? Might work as a cheap alternative.
