Learning film and red

Hey All,

This question may be around, here, but I thought I would ask again for the newest possible answer.

I just wrapped a feature as the DP on a HVX200 with a Redrock M2. Because of my work, I am probably going to be B cam on a bigger job that will shoot a combination of RED and FILM.

My question is what book / dvd would you folks recomend to wrap my brain around film and red basics?

As a point of reference, I am very comfortable and accomplished in everything from Beta to DV to HDV to P2 to HDCAM operations. I feel good about lenses, etc. For me its the abcs of film and red that I want to dig into, then do some test shoots with the formats.

Any help would be appreciated.

I normally wouldn't plug my own work, but the book "Cinematography" (Third Edition) by Malkiewicz & Mullen was written for beginning film students -- it's mainly geared towards 16mm but it gives you the basics of film cinematography.
