It says in the RPP 18mm description (in the store) that the extended flange will not work on some shutter based cameras.
My RPP's are working with film cameras all the time and last thing I want to do is hit a mirror on an Arricam or 435.
Is there any technical info about that flange depth or better yet, a list of cameras it will NOT work on ?
thanks.

The 18mm is a digital design and is NOT intended to work with most film cameras. All other RPPs work no problem. I'm sure someone has figured out which film cameras the 18 might work with (we haven't) and maybe they could post the exceptions if they have found one.

Please be careful here! You are correct... you do NOT want to use as lens on a camera that could scratch a mirror.

Or obliterate the mirror... ;)
If someone with an 18mm wants to drop by the shop, I have an Arri mirror clearance gauge to test the lens.

thanks Jim and Matthew.

Please Matthew , when you have access to the 18mm, drop us a line to confirm Arri clearance.
I should receive my 18mm this week, I'll go to the Arri rental house here in Montreal and check with the techs on my side.

cheers.
