Continuing my ongoing research paper on the debate that will never end:
Film, or Digital Cinema?

Anyway, I'm at a point where I'm trying to find out some 'statistics' showing percentages of films/TV series/any major productions that were shot digitally/on RED/on film/whatever. Ideally, I would be able to show what productions have been using over time, what they use now, what/when specific shows switched to digital, and most importantly, what specific cameras were used for specific productions...

I have had a very hard time trying to find some kind of source that would give me this kind of info... any suggestions, oh great REDusers?

Think gonna have to do it the hard way...
click tech specs or aspect ratio on imdb.com...good luck...

Wikipedia has some good articles highlighting digital productions (sorry, on my phone now, so no links).

This is probably a wrong time to write a research report on Film vs. Digital. Maybe a forecast, but a report is bound to be obsolete within a couple of years, if not months!

I always thought ugly betty was shot on film, on mikes website, it says f35, so i looked it up on imdb, below is what is stated, camera f35, but it mentions film negative format, sorry for the dumb question, but why does it mention film negative if the camera is a f35?

All previous seasons (prior to the current one) were shot on 35mm 3 perf film. It was changed to digital capture for this season (the final one) only. This is also the case with a number of other shows, including (off the top of my head) CSI Miami and NY, Criminal Minds, all of the Law and Orders, Numbers, Cold Case, and some others I'm forgetting at the moment.

I need to update that list as it is from the beginning of the current US television season.

You should also write more, IMO. I'd enjoy reading.
