I've decided that I have to concentrate on my writing and as much as I love my RED, I have to focus... so I'm putting out some feelers to see what people would be willing to pay for RED #351.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to all the people who PMed me yet- I told a producer I would send him a script and that went to the top of the to-do list.

First, since a lot of people had the same questions, I'll go through them and answer as many as I can right here.

  • RED #351 and I are located in Vancouver, BC, Canada. If any locals want to check it out they are welcome.
  • I paid up and took possession of the camera as soon as it was available - January of 2008.
  • RED #351 has not been upgraded to the MX sensor but I've received the email and if you wanted to pay for that before buying the camera I would send it in for the MX upgrade myself. This upgrade was what made me seriously look at the situation. I wasn't ready to put another $6,000 into the camera and without that it would lose appeal as a rental camera.
  • RED #351 is in good condition but it has been used on one feature and a slew of music videos, short films and commercials. Still looks clean and pretty though.
  • I have the latest BETA Build 30 on it.
  • It has had all the CF/audio board/i-pins updates at RED Headquarters
  • If you just want the camera body alone, I would consider an offer since most of the other items could sell for a reasonable price on their own. I might even get more by selling the items separately.

Thanks to everyone who responded to this. I was a little overloaded with the variety of offers and one that came in yesterday will need me to hold off on a decision until noon tomorrow - March 16th.

Sorry about the delay and I'm not asking anyone to revise or revisit their offer, I just need one more day before I make my decision.

It is neither a small nor an easy decision for me and I hope you understand.

Well, RED #351 is off the market. I really appreciate the offers that were made and it was a tough decision but I made a deal locally that lets me keep an interest in the camera and carry on the four year relationship that I have with RED while staying in the loop with their future products.
