  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New Fast Prime Set WOW

I know the MTF data I have shows they are better. That's why I own them (RPP's)

Hi Pawel,

Sorry for the late reply. I was on a long camping trip. With no internet. It was kind of amazing.

Let me see what I can do for you lens-wise. I'll get back to you.

Are they available for viewing at Band Pro in LA- now?

No worries, Randy. Thanks for chiming in. I'm sure there would be a few people in Sydney that would like to take a closer look. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi Roberto,

Yes we will have the new lenses at the Band Pro Booth at NAB. Anyone from Reduser who is interested in them should stop by and see me. Plus we have a killer espresso machine.

We will be able to say a lot more about the post NAB situation during NAB.

Red One & Lens

Red One & Lens

Are you guys going to get a Red One (hopefully one with M-X!) to demo with?

We are adjacent to Randy's booth. We'll have a RED One; so, you're welcome to stop-by and take a look.

Update: Just confirmed. We will have the Mystery Lenses @ Our Booth. Come see it at Booth #: C10308.

Nice one on both parts! Thank you Michael.

Just to be super-duper clear, the primes will be on the Red and it will be running so we can check them out in action? If so, very cool. Very nice of you to let them do that, and very neat of them to ask around and let people check them out on a Red.

You wouldn't happen to have a new Sony 4k projector in your booth would ya? ;D

The more and more I hear about these lenses, the higher my hopes are.
I've only held the lenses, not seen them on a camera or even better, a projector.
I have very high expectations for these lenses. Keep an eye out for me at these two booths. :)

I'm intrigued too (after all, everyone likes a mystery :)).

I'd still like to think that Leica branding is a possibility (or perhaps Leitz could be resurrected?). Although not owned by Leica camera AG, the use of the Leica name is licensed to them by Leica Microsystems AG and there is some history of Leica camera using the name on non core products. In this instance though, the Mystery Primes would be much more in keeping with the Brand image than rebadged Panasonic compact cameras.

At the moment you can't buy any new Leica M lens from Solms/Wetzlar because

Dr.Kaufmann is "borrowing" all Leica lens workers to build those new Mystery Primes.

Btw, a guy who designed Master Primes also did lens aspherical design of Mystery Primes.

That is not what I was told. I heard the designer of the mystery primes also designed another "primo" set of cine lenses.

Yes. We will have a RED camera with the Primes on it so you can 'check them out in action'.

Unfortunately, no 4K projector.

CF Card

CF Card

Can I bring a CF card ;DDDD

Just kiddin'

Sure. As long as you don't mind sharing. Although, I'm not sure the Show Floor is the best scenario for testing...

Anyhow, just come find me @ NAB.

I would like to invite all redusers to come check out these lenses during NAB. The 16x9 booth is essentially attached to the Band Pro booth and we will have several cameras with the new lenses on them between the 2 booths.

Like Michael said, too bad we will be under trade show lighting conditions (but if they look nice there, i bet you will like-a how they look under real lighting).

I take it there are no official updates on pricing? Or even a ballpark?
The rumors I've been hearing are under $100k/5 but rumors are rumors.
Let's hope for the best. They sure sound promising....

Wow is right....$178k for 8 is pretty steep. I think they might have even more good news about these regarding the future.....
