  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Can you blow up a RED still and frame it? And does it look good?

Answer: yes and yes.

We were looking for some art-type stuff to put on the walls around the new studio and I've seen some stunning frames that would be great blown up.

The question I had was this: could you blow up a RED still and have it look good on the wall?

I used an image from a Palo Duro roundup shoot by Jeffrey Lamont Brown, applied some special sauce, and sent it out to CanvasPop for a print and framing.

The result is attached...and we will be getting many more of these.

The co-founder of CanvasPop said "I just wanted to complement the image you sent over to us….. Not sure what camera you used to obtain that image, but the end result really blew us away….."

sweet.

CanvasPop looks pretty awesome.

can you post a better pic of the resolution of the canvas print? I am considering doing this myself.

Affirmative--give me a little time and I'll take a better shot.

Thanks, if you don't mind me asking, how much did the above image cost?

Nice shot Torrey, it feels like I'm looking out a window.

I did this too on a Ducati shoot I had over a year ago. Build 16! We printed two versions, one to fit my poster frame and another that is 6ft long by 4ft tall. It looks INCREDIBLE. Can't even see the noise. Here's a pic of the smaller frame.

Impressive - especially when you hear that resolution isn't important. Of course it's important. How can it not be?

Is a lot of the photography on his website taken from Red? There was a lot of 2:1 aspect stuff... Either way, really great work.

ACL,

From what I know, JLB is a still shooter making his way over to directing motion content.
