  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Why does Mysterium-X draw 5 extra Watts?

Just curious about the line in the Build 30 Manual.

"A Mysterium sensor based RED ONE camera draws approximately 75 Watts (with Mysterium-X sensor approximately 80 Watts) in a typical accessory configuration"

If at this power consumption a RED-BRICK 140Wh battery will run the camera for about 90 minutes, (assuming 93.3 Watts for typical config.) then does this mean the RED-BRICK will only run an upgraded MX-RED ONE for 85 minutes?

I suppose 5 minutes isn't a big deal but it's still 5 minutes. I'm mainly just curious if the additional power draw somehow correlates to the lower noise floor in the M-X sensor.

Has anyone with an M-X upgraded RED ONE tested the battery run time to see if the difference is more or less than 5 minutes?

because its a bigger sensor.. that draws more power.

I was wondering about that. The Mysterium-X sensor put into the RED is basically the exact same 5k sensor that will be put into the Epic, right? Except cropped for the 4.5K that the RED ONE can handle?

Correct.

That's a good one Richard. LOL. Ya got me. And yes, I clicked on it thinking it was a video describing the power consumption details of the Mysterium-X.

:)

Seriously though, anyone tested the battery consumption time differential between two identically configured RED ONE's, one having M and the other M-X sensors. Is it 5 minutes, less than 5 minutes?
