That mustve taken sometime haha, though white ain't scarlets beauty paint...black is definetly what that thing needs =P

Jim, did you find inspiration for Scarlet and Epic's shells from within your camera collection? : )

Petr, maybe you can post the full photo as a link? Here is a smaller version to embed.

I think the aesthetic is not to be looked at here, rather the case in point is that for this type of industrial design, form will ALWAYS follow function. The function shared between the Apollo program and the RED program are very similar. Modularity, upgradability, ease of repair, ease of setup and portability. NASA got the answer right, and so have RED.

To illustrate my point above, you see that the screw points on the front plate have the filleted corners all around them so as to save excess material and only use material where needed..I suppose same goes for RED.

Yup. I started writing about this but then had to go. About how NASA has built some pretty nifty gizmos, and how form follows function.

I suppose Scarlet/Epic are designed to be as light and small as possible, yet ready for all sorts of bolt on magic, lego-like wonders. I wouldn't be surprised --or anything other than happy-- to hear that mother-effin-NASA inspired Jim, even if just subconsciously. Then great minds (and organizations) think alike. Whichever the situation here, is only a great thing to see similarities with a design from such out of the box thinkers, and one built ready to go to the mother-effin-moon!

I wonder how I didn't bump into it before. Here is my current background. I love moon landing photos. I would do anything to go there.

And where is RED Rocket™? :-)

LOL
I guess I remember some aliens lurking around, maybe they stole it with their long creepy fingers :conehead:
