  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

More FCP news... not so good?

I still cannot believe Apple are going to abandon in any way an App as important to sales and market awareness as Final Cut.

Perhaps this is a sign that things are changing in the Pro Apps division - maybe this will make them more nimble and lead to better things?

Overly hopeful probably - but I have never bought the 'Apple only cares about iProducts" argument. They sell millions of Macbook Pros to (er) Pros - who use FCP more than any other pro app. Pro Apps are important to Apple - and will continue to be so as long as they continue to make billions from hardware sales.
 
I don't think that it's beyond the realms of possibility that Apple would spin off Pro Apps into a separate unit, or at the very least use a more contractor based approach to software development.
 
Apple has been focusing more and more on their consumer market, where the bulk of their revenue comes from, so a spin off or something of the sort does make sense.
