  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

opitek nikon pro mount for sale..

Zak you are selling it, wow. Here I am struggling to let go of my 3 lens Nikon zoom set.

im going to spend the extra coin to get the mount that can quickly accept a pl mount.. I need to be able to switch mounts in seconds.
Dont get me wrong.. this is an excellent mount!!!

Thanks Kwan. I know of the Optitek but was more curious about the PL/Nikon mount that offers quicker changing that Zak spoke of

Currently no iris control built into the "A" mount (and when it does come, it sounds like it will require removing the lens)... I'm sticking with my ProLock. Both the Nikon 24-70mm and the Nikon 70-200mm require a mount with iris control, as do the G lenses.

I am interested in the prolock (which looks excellent) but will it be necessary with the new Red nikon mount for the Epic? Wont that have electronic control for nikon lenses? There seems to be so much new stuff on the horizon that it does not make a lot of sense to commit to stuff at the moment.

ProLock Advantage

ProLock Advantage

Just in case here are the two main Advantages of he OptiTek's Nikon ProLock:
Positive locking , gently pulling the lens towards the flange. less friction, wear than the original mount.
G-lens control via traditional ring allows smooth iris pulling and motor hookup.
Floating iris scale can be calibrated to any Nikon F mounted lens.
None of these features is available on A mount. :nono:

If you are current RED One using primarily a Nikon lens set, the ProLock is the single most effective tool for mating a Nikon lens to the RED One.

Obviously if you are not a current RED One user, the future is total speculation until the actual EPIC or Scarlet unit ships.

Cosmetically AllStar produces very good looking products, I love the presentation and hope they continue churning out awesome products. Equally, the ProLock barnone is well thought out and is the strongest product in its category for what it does

honestly.. i have a feeling that my current opitek is probably the best for nikon lenses.. it locks them on TIGHT!.. a star might not be as locked, but i switch mounts wayyyy too much and just need an easier option.

if no one is interested.. ill probably just keep my opitek for backup.. but let me know
