  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

we are actually doing two more today and tomorrow, good fun trying to get cats to run a green screen obstacle course....hence the posts...
 
you know it brother, you heard the expression, "herding cats" ...that is exactly what we are doing, no kidding we have three shots today, three set ups all day and we are struggling to make our day.
 
If the only photographic element shot was the cat, I find it ironic since the cat looks almost too desaturated, like black and white, and feels comped... Not a real showcase piece for the Red, imo.
 
the cat WAS black and white...but this one we are shooting today is more like a redhead...and it is a different group doing the post...maybe it will turn out better...just found out that this particular spot is playing pretty regularly during the olympic broadcast here in the states...

BTW, there was a bit of sarcasm in the title of this thread as I clearly know this is not the most exciting thing ever shot with my red or any other red for that matter...the post was meant as a break from the constant "gee whiz look what i did with my camera" messages that usually come from me. glad some of you got that....happy happy joy joy.

I have had the "pleasure" of working on three cat projects this past year. Two of them were shot on green screen, and the third was the currently airing Blue Buffalo Cat Food commercial. (Also shot with the Red One)

Trying to get a cat to run and jump in a green screen environment can be impossible ... bordering on comical. Watching the frustrated cat wranglers coo to their charges and struggle with their cat teasers always makes me smile.

I bet it was tough to get the cat on the make-believe boat.

I think you guys did a really nice job, Dino. :thumbsup:

well maybe sometime daniel will be too busy and i can slide in their for one and you'll get to find out why i work so much...cheers
 
it is pretty amazing how these wranglers do their work, there are three of them on set and 5 cats for each role...when they get them to move they sound like the people cheering on the sidelines of the men's downhill at the olympics...it's crazy...
 
I would have loved to seen the agency pitch this to the client....

redusers boost views numbers

so when i posted this link yesterday, the commercial had about 3500 views, now it is well over 20,000. although there are only 300+ views here on reduser, if each of you told 5 people and they told 5 people and they told 5 people that is 37,500 more views...which is kind of where it is going...

i am on set with the client and they are stoked...so thanks for sharing!
