Looking for a $1000-$1500 for my red as a second monitor... Must have HD-SDI & HDMI!!!

Are any of you guys using one of these??? Pros & Cons???

Thanks in advance,
Prio

At that price there's a great 7" monitor from Marshall that we sell tons of and is very well build. Some of the other inexpensive brands are cheap and unreliable. One manufacturer who shall remain nameless sent us four test units one after another until we finally got one that worked, and then the battery mount broke in a day.

can you tell me which model number of marshall lcd it is

just got the manhattan 7.1" LCD yesterday. unfortunately i'm not using it on a red, but it's mainly for focus and framing. haven't had time to do any color calibration so we'll see. but, the guys at manhattan were great. i called and got real people with real answers on the phone before i purchased. plus the monitor is 1024x600 (just like the red lcd) instead of the marshall's 800x480.

it's also VERY affordable.

the Manhattans look & spec out tight! Mitch??? your opinion please??? whats the best way in??? HDMI or SDI at an xtra $500???

Is tv logic USA the only company with a small on camera monitor with a waveform?

I don't doubt for a second that the Marshall is the better and more rugged monitor... But, just to say, we bought and took one of the first batch of SmallHD monitors to the very demanding climes of the Caucas mountains for a six week shoot. Definitely not babying the SmallHD, it performed and endured flawlessly. Great monitor in our experience, especially for the money.

How about the 7" or 8" TVLogic??? Does anyone own or has rented these??? There is no doubt to me that they are premium but in todays world what is the best value??? The Ikan VX9 with SDI & HDMI & battery plate with all that real estate has my attention???

There is a 5" monitor by TV Logic (Postium) that is super badass!!! and at $995. I am seriously considering it but it does not have a HDMI. So again, I am trying to solve all my problems with the one purchase and at a sub $1500 price tag.

I really want to hear from someone who has real world experience with the TVLogic products.

Hi Carlos,

I have a 17" TVlogic which we're very happy with. We added a V-lock plate on the back end it goes out on shoots quite regularly, people have been happy with it. I dont have experience with your other options here, but I'm happy with our monitor.

Cheers,
Damien
