The 1st Pre-Release version of REDCINE-X for Mac is now up.

Lots of tweaks and fixes... including:

Added Verbose Logging option for helping to capture and kill bugs
Manual Debayer selection for software (non-Rocket) exports (ignored for Rocket which is always Full Quality)
Fixed a couple of crash scenarios
Export Selected Clips fixed
Export Selected Clips now exports each clip to a separate file

I like the graduation to "pre-release" - I guess that means we're close to checking this one off the beta list!

cannot get R3D original file names

cannot get R3D original file names

still cannot get R3D full name as in original clip. It open a dialogue asking for file name. I noticed that it is faster in rendering than the previous version. What is the trick to get the complete file name? I see people do not complain anymore...

Sweet, I'll try it out on set tomorrow.

Even though it's ridiculously specific JL Cooper Eclipse control surface support would be sweet!

Keep trucking Red team! (or Deanan).

Filming in one hour.... Ouch!

Can you elaborate? I'm not understanding what you're referring to.

re file names

re file names

I need to have the same file name as the original R3d that I have rendered, like A001_C003_etc when I need to render/export for off line QT Prores 720p and re-connect the r3ds.
Looks like I have to type the file name now? Export tab, (save as) is asking for a new file name.

In your export preset, try "output with clip filename to...".
And then export from the bin.

Alternatively, if you select a bunch of clips and export with "timeline (selected clips)", it'll output each clip separately with the clip name (and using the folder setup in the export preset.

Hope that helps,

I'm blown away at the pace of updates. Downloaded 101 last night and haven't even had a chance to check out the latest updates and now I have an even newer version. You guys are setting a new paradigm in customer service. Wow!

Yeah, a new build every two day!

I am glad it´s not a new camera every two days!

I love Redcine-X already and it´s great that RED chooses to share it with us at this early stage, we must not forget that it´s still pre-release!

Great news!
Downloaded build 104 and it seems to work pretty well. One thing i'm still missing is the ability to save the clips with in's and out's. When the project is saved and reopened it won't reflect these settings i've done before. If you have a big process batch to transcode and the app crashes while processing (what could happen once in a while) it would save a lot of time.
But so far a great tool for different tasks like fast transcoding and/or first lights!

Best,
Severin
