Windows Build to follow tomorrow (or Tuesday).

Let me share a new trick.

Just for fun... open your footage and set REDcolor and Linear Gamma. Re-set WB if necessary. Then ONLY use the FLUT™ Control to adjust the brightness up to where you like it. Pretty interesting option. This new FLUT™ science is pretty amazing. If you like it, send Graeme some Single Malt.

EDIT... after trying this technique on more footage, it only works under certain circumstances... so, ignore this.

Downloaded and i only get the video preview menu when i open redcine-x. Curves; clip bin and ALL others not displaying on my monitor---but they are checked when i go to WINDOW??

Send log file to deanan@red.com

Mine works perfect... and fast!

It appears that John (Baja) made a pilot error... don't be afraid of this build. It is solid.

that certainly is one way of putting it......sleep deprivation is another. Works Great now. My error was i am running dual monitors and i had (because i was watching a movie) "MIRRORING" turned on and half my tools were on the left monitor (unseen) and redcine-x was on the right monitor. Tools were where I put them while using build 99 (on left side of screen--while mirroring was off) So i suppose redcine was still assuming my tools should be on the left screen even though mirroring was on.

Bottom line....don't use mirroring!

wow I like it keep it coming

Im not sure if Im doing something wrong or dont understand how the framing tool works but how to I export a 4.5ws video to fit inside 1080 with out it looking squished.

also when I view my export in the quicktime player x the color seems to be different than in redcine x 100 is that normal what can I do to make that work.

Hi Martin,

The Framing Tool is a little clunky - you have to select "Custom" Crop in the first drop down menu, select "1920x1080" in the second drop down menu, and Set Fit to "Fit Width."

It's confusing because you're technically not cropping but scaling instead. Plus the changes have no visible effect in the monitoring window.

As per your 2nd question, if you have Quicktime 7 Pro (you should automatically have it if you own Final Cut Pro 6 or 7) then go into Preferences and under the General tab check "Enable Final Cut Studio color compatibility" at the bottom of the page. This should set Quicktime gamma to 2.2 instead of 1.8.
