Though Peyton Manning and Drew Brees are the quarterbacks getting all the attention on the field this Sunday, Florida Gator Tim Tebow will make his first Super Bowl appearance in a commercial shot with the RED ONE Digital Cinema Camera from CMR Studios of Tampa, Florida. The two day shoot took place at Full Sail Studios in Orlando. It features Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow and his mother Pam. The spot has received a lot of attention in the press because it is the first advocacy commercial to ever air in the Super Bowl.

With a crew of 25, Director of Photography was Brian Baugh. The project was shot with a Cooke 18-100. CMR Studio's Rich Roddman was 1st AC, and Mike Weber was DIT. After the shoot Rich also provided post-production consultation on the RED ONE workflow from editing through color-correction.

The multi-million dollar media buy places the spot to air nationally a total of five times during the Super Bowl coverage. Look for it the spot on CBS four times in the pre-game show and in the first commercial break after kickoff.

Congrats! I'll be watching for it. What software was used in the post workflow?

I've never done a commercial so I'm curious, for a super bowl ad what was the deliverable format?

uh oh. this thread should get locked before it gets out of control. Pro-choice v. pro-life debate doesn't belong here... I already lost respect for at least one member on here....

Everything that gets shot on RED is news... whether you choose to watch it or not is your call. We just don't want to know.

Thank you Mr. Jannard.

For those that do want to see it, the two slightly different commercials are available on Focus's website.

Good work!

From a design standpoint, I was somewhat confused by the ad before it using the tackling old people gag, and then this ad doing the same thing (she wasn't quite as old...)

It seemed to happen again later in the broadcast, a different two ads for two different products used the same gag in different ads...weird...

That also happened with the ads back-to-back involving people wearing no pants. Odd.

Anyone know any other ads premiering tonight shot on RED?

I understand, and you guys are right. This is not the place for that kind of debate. I apologize for the wise crack. I hope I didn't offend anyone too badly. I've got that smart ass gene and it's hard to hold in sometimes. Once again, I'm sorry. This is a wonderful site for an amazing product and tool!
