  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Now that the M-X upgrade program has started...

...don't you feel ready for news about EPIC and SCARLET? What happened with those APICs? How are the tests coming along? Please excuse my curiosity :) If I could I would sit in the RED Labs all day :)

Anyone interested in sharing spreculations whether we will know more about it before the upcoming REDDAY in California?
 
Not much to know... Metal Spin caused delays... sometimes those high level issues uncover more issues... its obviously delayed longer than they hoped, or they wouldnt be giving us this incredible upgrade program... but then even that is just a guess..

These kinds of threads can also piss RED off and make them not want to share as much publicly... so tread lightly here... I think Jim has made it crystal clear that he and RED want to ship these cameras more than we want to buy them... when its ready, its ready, it's not like they are going to abandon the program.

Lots of cool stuff on the horizon... M-X program... 18mm RPP- Bomb EVF - etc.

I frankly can't keep up with the current offerings like the new Redcine-X and FLUT

Well nobody want's to piss off anyone. And by asking I'm NEITHER implying something like "it's about time!!" nor am I "demanding" any news. As you said, Tim, it'll be ready when it is ready.

I just find the whole process fascinating. The only camera I ever build was a pinhole camera. That was modular too... we had several shoebox sizes... interchangeable pinholes... one had sound... until my dad discovered that I had taped his dictaphone to a shoebox...
 
Red day is a week from Saturday. Let's see if any new information comes out then. One clue will be whether they are showing working Epics or just the case form. Big clue!
