I can't find this reported in reduser.com.

According to Engineering we do not support Red Camera clips.
They are working on a workflow solution but no ETA.
Let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks

A Kona card will output whatever FCP feeds it.

If FCP/Quicktime can decode the frames fast enough, then you have real-time viewing out the Kona.

_P files go out the Kona full frame rate, no problem if it's set to 525i.

_M files are almost real time, and real time if timeline is set to low quality.

_H files are very slow on my machine, but it's a short render to a ProRes timeline and then I can view 1080p out of the Kona.

I was previewing quicktime proxies just fine on an 8 core mac pro via FCP with an AJA LH card (I think...the one just below AJA 3). You have to set all your playback options to High and Full in FCP or else it looks kind of pixelated. I was only working in SD sequences. I tried HD once and couldn't get it to look just right, so I didn't fiddle with it yet. Although I'd like to figure it out so I'll try that later.

Those quicktime clips are 8bit, why would you want to output them to tape, adding another layer of compression to 8 bit material ? If its just for a preview fine, but even then...
