Criterion just released a beautiful "Che" set, and there's a supplemental feature included called "Che and the Digital Cinema Revolution." The RED ONE is front and center. Lots of interesting comments about workflow, etc by Soderbergh and his crew. Featurette is on youtube, first part at:

Deanan and Rob are looking sharp in their interviews. ; )

I (of course) really like what they had to say about the DI process in Part IV, since it was done on SCRATCH!

Best,

Excellent. Now I need a copy of the Criterion...

In the interview, Soderbergh seems more than happy with 2K images from the early build of the RED ONE and makes the point that anything beyond that seems like overkill to him. Soderbergh is shooting the film KNOCKOUT right now -- does anyone know if he's sticking with an older build of the RED ONE or if he's decided to give the MYSTERIUM a go?

No, that's not what Rob and Deanan look like - those are actors playing the parts of Rob and Deanan, because the real Rob and Deanan are too busy coding.... :-)

I'm so far out of touch this is probably total crap, but I believe that Soderbergh has new cameras because Fincher is using his older ones. Sure I'll be corrected

I don't have time to find the link right now but if I remember right Jannard stated that they have to prepare new M-X R1 for Soderbergh 'cause Fincher is using upgraded Che's cameras.
In this case Soderbergh is using the last build 'cause of the new sensor.
