... or Tarkovsky, or... Let's just all agree that Cüneyt said something stupid and move on.

I get amazed at some of the things that people say on this forum. Would you actually have the balls to look Martin Scorsese in the face and make that statement? Or Steven Speilberg? Or Ridley Scott? Or any other notable director who is living the dream that you and I strive for? Think before you type, because if you're lucky, these people might be your peers someday.
Kaya,1st, yes i would have the balls.
What do you think how they would react? Would they say, that they dont think Kubrick made something nobody made before?
There is nothing ignorant about this, its ignorant to stay away from an opinion just in case you would/could meet someone.
ridley scotts 1st directional movie was based on paths of glory btw.
in my experience its the other way around, beeing true to yourself is the best....and i never said these three arent dammn good or some similar bullshit, there are many many real good directors out there making really good movies,
the point is i honor perfection (what is perfect to me btw.) when i see it
2nd, i am doing a feature in the $$$$$$$ figures right now...
and i am not striving for someone elses life...i just try to make the movies i see in a way an audience can enjoy.
3rd why so serious? Isnt Coppola the last living director besides terrence malick...hehe
4th this went really offtopic...no problem when the mods delete or move this
5th my favorite director is david fincher, but i wouldnt include him in this list, makes sense?![]()
I too believe in 4K. (BTW, who's Terrence Malik?)Sorry to take this thread off course. I do believe in 4K![]()
A better thing about 4K is it will make them the SD of tomorrow.Good thing about 4K is that it will bring the prices of 1080p devices down. :emote_popcorn:
Kaya,
I have no opionion pro or con on your statement, but I will defend to your death the right to say it!:smilielol5:
Oh! THAT Terrence Malick. (Was actually testing Tom's MALICK ALERT sensors. But I guess he knew that and didn't bother to respond.)
Do you really want all limited liability feature productions buying two or three EPIC's for their one-off productions -- that is going to last a month or two or three -- and then putting them back into the market as used equipment? At some point, the market would be completely flooded with used EPIC's.
Most features are not made by companies making several movies over several years, they are put together temporarily to make a single movie. It's the reason why they rent everything from xerox machines to office space to phones, all the way down the line to lighting equipment, vehicles, cameras, etc. It has very little to do with whether it is cheaper to buy or rent. A lot of it is due to the convenience of closing up shop within a week or two of the production's end and returning all of this stuff as soon as possible. If everything was bought, it could take months to sell all of it off again.
