Hi, all,
I wonder if anyone is using Porta Brace bag to carry their Red.
BTW, any suggestion to carry your R1, as well as your partition of your case.
Thanks.

I use the PETROL PRB-15 for my RED. For me it's perfect. I have it checked a few times on international flights without issues at all. And it has wheels!

We use the standard camera Porta Brace for our Red. fits nice and snug, and batteries go in the pocket.

thank you all!!
Anita, do you mind telling me which exact Porta Brace bag you are using if it is not too much trouble for you? I like Porta Brace, too.
Thanks.

With a bit of consulting from yours truly, Portabrace designed a case specifically around a "standard" RED package. Of course there is no such thing, but they did the best they could and I think it will work well with just about any configuration you come up with. It's on wheels as well so you can really load it up without breaking your back.

Hey King - I own the PortaBrace DVO-4RED and love it! I will accomodate 24" Rods and a long lens on the camera. So if you like to have a pre-configured setup with everything ready to go, this bag will let you do it.

Or if you like to break it down, there is enough space for the RED ONE (or EPIC), plus a lens and other accessories. Also, the bottom has velcro strips running the entire length of the interior of the bag that coordinate perfectly with the Rods. And it comes with two velcro pads that you can position on the velcro strips anywhere you want. The RED can then rest on these Pads on the front and back end -- which allows you to keep a shoulder mount/bridge plate on the bottom without it resting on an uneven component. Make sense? Also it has two velcro straps to tie down the camera inside the bag.

My only complaint is that you can't fit a mattebox into the bag while it's configured on the rails. You will need a separate case for your mattebox.

I bought this bag knowing that I would only own my RED ONE for a few months before I upgraded, so it's definitely a future proof RED ONE/EPIC bag.

Let me know if you have other questions about this bag. Or if you want to see pictures, I'll try to get some take and posted.

You are very nice, Andrew!
If I am allowed to ask, of course, I would like to see some of the pictures of your bag.
Thank you very much.

King -

I'll have to put some up tomorrow -- which for me is Central Standard Time.

I'll put them here and PM you when they are up.

This is area where I can finally give some advice! So I am glad to help!

Talk to you soon.

Thanks, Andrew. I just received my camera and seriously think of how to carry it around.
Thanks again.

King -
Here are a few images. They should give you a rough idea of its size and capability.
Hopefully more to come.

These padded velcro blocks go in the bottom to let the RED sit on.

It allows you to keep accessories like the battery plate and shoulder mount on the camera permanently.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have other questions.

Andrew, you are so kind and gentle, even taking separate pictures of the pads to let me understand. THANKS!!!

Mike, I read your thread before, and it is very detailed. But yes, I wonder if you will use the wheels to transport the R1, particularly, such small wheels.

David, sure, a hard case is the most protective solution. I have a big Pelican, but just think of another handy solution.

Thank you all.
