For sale a set of 6 Cooke Speed Panchros Series II/III rehoused to PL mount by Panavision.
The glass is in superb condition, no marks, fungus, scratches etc.
Housings are good and strong as you would expect from Panavision and finding some in PL mount in decent housings is not always that easy!
These lenses are a genuine rarity in Panavised PL mount form and are the best re-housings that I have seen of the Panchros.

The set includes the following:

18mm Series III T2.2
25mm Series III T2.2
32mm Series II T2.3
40mm Series II T2.3
50mm Series II T2.3
75mm Series II T2.3

As far as I'm aware the only focal lengths available in Series III were 18 and 25mm but please someone correct me if I'm wrong!

The images from these lenses on a Red do have a really lovely quality and they are pretty sharp and contrasty. The highlights are lovely and if you point them at a light the flare is outstanding.
I've added pictures of the lenses below and I will add some stills from things that we've shot on them soon.

These lenses will be serviced and collimated by True Lens Services before they are despatched on receipt of payment.

Asking price for these is:

My original versions do, but I think you have to test every individual lens. I'm sure Stephen Williams will soon chime in :seeya:

They do cover 4K, even the 18mm
I didn't know you had some Mike, are they standard mount?

A friend of mine had a set of panavised panchros just like these. They all covered 4K just fine. The 18mm does show noticeable vignette. I can't comment about 4.5K coverage as that record mode wasn't available on the RED before he sold the lenses. I'm thinking they all should still cover, but the 18mm vignette will be more noticeable. At 4K it was nothing that couldn't be corrected out with CC.

Nice lenses overall and they have a very vintage or organic look to the image. I wouldn't want to shoot everything with a set of lenses like this. But I wish I had this set in my kit for those times when their look would be welcome.

In the old cooke panchros, the only SIII lenses made were the 18 and 25.

Hey Shaun,

Yep Standard mount, old style and very nice too. I don't usually CC out the 'vignette' as it is quite pleasing! Very nice glass but as Jeff says not for every job.

I got mine super cheap, not really posible to actively pull focus on but great glass!

Hey Mike
Yeah I have a 100mm and a 152mm in standard mount that I've used with an adaptor before. Amazing results but not easy to follow focus with!
This set have really nice movements though and focus is smooth. They are also marked in both feet and meters whatever your preference.

Hi Shaun,

Are these lenses still available?

Hi Norm,

lucky person. Thanks.

Shaun, if things fall through with Norm (not that i would wish for this, you understand...) or if you come across another set of S2/3 Panchro's, please let me know!

Yours,

Tim
