Sorry if this has been posted before but I can't seem to find anything with a search.

Does anyone know when the upgrade schedule is for the Mysterium X and the Red One and a ball park idea of upgrade cost?

Are there any exceptions or will it open to all Red One owners?

Any info that anyone has would be very much appreciated because after seeing Jarred's and Jim latest example it's pretty much a 'must have' for us.

Cheers

Jim mentioned in a response on one of his threads that it would debut sometime before Epic and Scarlet. That's all he's revealed on the forum AFAIK. At one time the cost was pegged at $4500. But as we all know, everything is subject to change. (Maybe it will be less:shocked:)

To upgrade to M-X for a $4500 is a no brainier, I will do this 100% with my personal camera.

...but I'm not sure it can be very much higher. I have too many friends with to much free time and too much $ to put in to hardware and one of then is just now ripping apart a 7D and doing a sensor swap with a R1. He probably ending up destroying both cameras. ..but his day job is making satellites so he is not a complete moron :)

That's crazy

Isn't the color science specifically tuned for the M?

Too much $ and free time is an understatement.

Crazy beyond belief - 7D sensor full frame runs at 10fps. How's that going to work in a RED One? Completely different architecture, voltages etc! It's a "no can do" situation! Colorimetry would be the least of your worries.

I wonder if that will void the warranty. :smilielol5::smilielol5:

Hmmm...a Red One wired into a satellite's circuitry. If he's planning on taking low light shots in space, as someone suggested on another thread, he should wait until the M-X sensor becomes available.

afterthought: Is this a communications satellite? LIVE!! FROM SPACE... IT'S SATUHDY NITE!!

But he won't need a birger mount - he has that leftover 7D stuff :-)

Just let us know what serial number the RED ONE is... :-)

Hi Jim,

We only discovered Red about 3 months ago but we didn't waste any time and are now the proud owners of Red One #7096. I guess that will put us right at the back of the queue huh? :-(
