Hi Guys,

what is the best way to get the film look and feel while shooting? what frame rate and setting for camera do u use?

Do u use 24fps with various frame rate?

FPS, End Frame Rate, ISO, Look, Color?

Is the any downloadable user settings for that?

I really appreciate it.

Firstly, this is a real name forum. OK, it's really not, but it does pretend to be.

On frame rate and the "film look," you're asking about a subject that has been beaten to death, resurrected, and murdered again ad nauseam. A simple internet search will reveal more than you can possibly yearn for.

Good shooting and best regards,

Leo

First: How can i change my name to the real name? i have added a request to post but nothing has been changed!

Second: can you advise or link me to where i can find a post or a tutorial... i could not find a good tutorial, article or post about this....

go to flickr.com, search for amazing pictures, and ask the shooter what they did to get it. its a lot more complicated and subtle than Film v Digital, Frame Rates, or some mishmash fake-0 settings on a camera.

best analogy i can think of is "how can I build a beautiful building? do I need to use bricks, or can I use concrete?" point is, its the wrong question.

I think your bigger concern should be is to know how the camera your shooting on takes light. You can make digital look more like film and vice versa with lighting then just changing frame rates.

Lighting is huge
24fps
Color grading with an experienced colorist
Depth of field with an experienced DP
Shot framing and motion or non motion of the camera.
Lens selection and usage.
These are some things that may help you get the "film look" you are in search of.

Downloadable user settings is not your solution.

Which film look were you after?
Maybe the look of Gilligan's Island or say the Brady Bunch?

If you want an easy ride you should try Magic Bullet, but don't expect professional results until you start working thoroughly professionally, and there's no easy ride there

What?

Magic Bullet is a grading software, it lacks some professional components like support for secondaries, but it's just a tool (paired with AE it's very good).

Use it badly and you'll have bad images.
