So... my EVF connection where the cable plugs in is really, really, loose. Ugh.

An AC I know told me they saw some one open up the back once and tighten it down... So I thought I would try it. But after taking the back off it didn't appear very obvious as to how to tighten down the connector. And I was too scared to try much experimenting and risk the thing not working.

So, anyone have any thoughts? Has someone out there successfully fixed this little headache?

Travis, since you are so close to RED, I would suggest bringing it in to RED to let us take care of you. Contact tech support to get an RMA number in advance...

hey Brent,

I was hoping you might check in. I'm shooting pretty constantly the next 2 weeks, no time to drive down to lake forrest right now. I remember I once had a similar problem with a port on the LCD and it took a few weeks to get it back from you guys. Also, the evf is no longer under warranty, so I'm hoping I can make this a DIY job so I can save some pennies.

Any tips you might be able to offer to tighten up this connector on my own would be welcome.

Travis, I hear where you are coming from. BUt, I just cannot endorse opening it up yourself. One wrong move, and you could have a much bigger problem on your hands.

Had the same problem last summer. Had to rent an EVF for a couple days while mine was sent to Red.

There are so many things to check over all the time. It would've been helpful for a Bomb Squad Rep to send out a heads up to watch for the possibility of the loose connection before I sent it out on a job.
