UPDATED 6/2011- WE ARE NOW 2K!!! and 3D!!!

Need a place to screen your film? Want to throw your own premiere party? Would you like to hear what your audio sounds like in a real cinema environment? Need a place to do a 5.1 mix? How about renting our Red One? We can provide all of this and more!!!

Introducing The Downtown Independent, Los Angeles, located at 251 S. Main Street, LA. The 250 stadium seat cinema is equipped with 35mm projector as well as a Barco DP2K-20C with a Dolby Cinema Server and DepthQ 3D System! We have a brand new cinema audio system consisting of JBL speakers, QSC amps and a Dolby Digital CP650 cinema processor. There are audio, video and ethernet connections inside the theater to allow editing, mixing and machine control.

The space is available 24/7 to those in need of a place to do private screenings, audio and video post, premieres, etc. We offer indie rates and an indie friendly environment.

We would also like to invite independent filmmakers who are self-distributing as well as indie distributors to contact us about theatrical releases.

some day we'll get a RED Ray!

Downtown Independent Update

Hi everybody!

This week we're playing GENGHIS BLUES, an amazing doc. I almost forgot what analog video looks like. I kinda miss it....

Don't miss our free inauguration celebration on tuesday:

James, that looks awesome, man! I'll keep you in mind.

It's getting busy around here. On friday we've got the LA premiere of the new Werner Herzog film MY SON MY SON WHAT HAVE YE DONE? with a Q&A by Werner himself should be awesome. Sundance will be here Jan 28th to screen Adrian Grenier's TEENAGE PAPARAZZO as part of the Sundance USA screenings, and tons of other stuff. Seems like almost of the films coming through lately are shot on RED, we just had a cast/crew screening of RASPBERRY MAGIC which was shot on RED on sunday. We've even had a couple RED shoots here at the cinema in the past year.

Thanks for your support, we'd love to host another 4K challenge, hopefully in 4K!!!
