  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

A query about Angenieux 25-250mm HR

If it cant, then what would be zoom lens solution for EPIC?

Shoot cropped to a normal 35mm frame. Very few Cine zooms will cover a larger area than they were originally designed for throughout the whole range.

I've shot the 25-250HR on both film and the Red and it covers the S35 sensor and Academy just fine.

It is a superb and surprisingly sharp lens.

But my question is will it cover 5K which is going to be the sensor size when Epic is launched.

Which is basically what you would expect, the question was would it cover Epic 5K which is significantly bigger. my answer probably not is about as accurate as anybody can know today without testing it on an Epic.

None, as far as I know, except those converted from still lenses made for full frame 135 cameras (24mm X 36mm).

Angenieux Optimos MIGHT and the two new Rouge zooms claim to do it for practical (real life) aspect ratios—2.4:1, 1.85:1 and 16:9, etc. but not the full sensor of 15mm X 30mm.

Feel free to correct me. I'd love to find a PL mount zoom lens that covers full Epic S35 sensor, too.
