You lucky bastard! I was able to visit Lucasranch 7 years ago and almost drove over Clint Eastwood as he was jogging. Not good..

One day I will get to use a RED camera...one day...

Philip, I had a RED and when I saw what you were doing with the EX-1, I sold the RED and bought a couple of Ex-1's. Haven't looked back since. Don't get me wrong, I'm online to buy a couple of Scarlets, but the RED doesn't sound like your cup of tea, it's heavy, big, bulky and cumbersome...but it does shoot some sweet footage :-)

Can-Do Film Festival and Competition

Can-Do Film Festival and Competition

Philip and Rick are judges in our Can-Do film festival and competition .... as soon as Scarlet arrives we'll have a section for RedHeads as well .... in the meantime if you have one of the EOS HD DSLRs and think you can shoot a cool four minute short - have a go.

Check out the Judges section ... Philip is having way too much fun.

The Can-Do doesn't officially open until Jan 1st but already we've had people submit .... you'll be glad to know that the celebrated Mr Sanjin was in fact the world's first Can-Do submission.

2010 is going to be a great year for filmmakers every where.

Today we come to the point that with HDDSLR EVERY HUMAN BEING CAN BE A FILMMAKER.

Philip,

of course you did amazing little movie about the ranch.

BTW, don't worry about R1 and when ever you pass Vienna I'll give you my RED1 with set of Leica R lenses for free to shoot in the city...

Philip, amazing film man. I would be in shock to be around those guys. No pressure :)

This is funny.. Considering the "celebrated" Mr. Sanjin drops nuggets like "We know that Canon 5dMk2 or any other HD video enabled DSLR looks good on the Internet size picture but..." etc..

Ironic to say the least .... but Sanjin is shooting some cool stuff with his EOS 7D now .... and Philip is shooting some really great stuff for George and Rick up at the Skywalker Ranch ... hoping to be able so show some more of their test footage in the New Year.

If you haven't checked out what's happening in the Canon EOS 1D MkIV, 5D MkII and 7D world recently you should keep an eye on Jeremy's blog .... the world is changing fast and we with it:

See you on the Can-Do.

I'm quite surprised there aren't more posts on this thread. Considering that there has been so much debate over how the DSLRs would fair on a large screen. Sounds really positive that they look awesome on the big screen. Makes me feel confident I don't need to upgrade from the 7D in order to have something hold up on a larger screen!
Just need the talent of Uncle Phil and the likes in order to get the great images.
What a kick arse result Phil.

Looking forward to seeing what Phil can do with the 1dmk IV... Cant wait to see more footage in Feb !

Congrats
