Hello Denis,

Your stuff look great.

Remember me?

On the sixth day of Festivus my true love gave to me...

Are you also selling Festivus poles? And will you be celebrating the traditional way, with the Feats of Strength?

Hey Dennis,

I had a chance to play around with your Pegasus dolly on Rutherford's NASA film.

I'm curious to see if Atlas might be a good solution for Epic X. To me, the real key to that type of rig is a fast, secure, extremely solid way to quickly attach some nice carbon tripods at each end, with sturdy ball heads for leveling.

Pictured below is how I have configured my current lightweight dolly to work with simple tripods and small ball heads. The setup time is crazy fast.

To me, the Atlas could be a key piece of gear for very fast Epic setups, something I could grab from the back of my SUV, and have setup and leveled in under, say, 2 or 3 minutes. A piece of gear like that would be very valuable. Not to mention all its regular capabilities.

Hoping to get a chance to check out Atlas, maybe at NAB or something. Will your forthcoming jib arm work with Atlas? Will it support an Epic?

Yes, the feats of strength here at Cinevate will commence next week. So far Nick and I have battled over the "clappy" push-up event, however our new web guru Dan apparently works out every day, and is a ringer for the title. As far as the Airing of Grievances, part 1 happened yesterday compliments of my wife.

Tom, we're eager to see the results of the time lapse :-) Atlas is being used by the amazing Bill Frakes right now with custom 9ft rods to support multiple camera bodies simultaneously. You'll love the adjustable feet we've equipped Atlas with...and Matt's Pegasus will get the same treatment in about two weeks. Atlas is shown here supporting me (check the clip)...and I'm a lot, lot heavier than any film camera.

On the seventh day of Festivus my true love gave to me...

An Canon EOS to Nikon Adapter Ring

Hmmm.. so you can do custom lengths on the Atlas, eh? Nice.

Looking forward to seeing one in person. Will the "feet" on th Atlas come with rubber "shoe" options? Might be nice for setting on countertops and such.

Yes, Atlas (and soon Pegasus) is shipping with the rubber foot option right now. They just came in if you're one of the folks waiting. Not only are the CNC machined Atlas legs individually adjustable, but the removable high density urethane balls can be micro-adjusted on the fly for perfect leveling. The internals of the ball are stainless steel and capable of taking a few hundred pounds each. When you see Medusa, Cyclops and Proteus Uno, it will become clear why we spent about six months researching and testing ... our balls. We need to call them something else I think ...

lmao.... :biggrin5:

are you guys gonna have all this stuff at NAB? atlas looks very interesting.

Cool stuff Dennis as usual...but for your matte box to be appealing to Red camera users it needs to at least support 4x5.6..... yes I know...I have been bugging you about this since it first came out...lol...but everytime I inquire about it I keep hearing it's coming out "next month" and still nothing.....so is it ever going to come out with bigger filter sizes?

other than that great products!

Maz, Ok, definitely not next month. If you look at our Titan mattebox you'll know that convention is something that means little to us. That said, we've got folks that have needs not met by current designs of matteboxes. So I'll give a few hints on what's coming. The Titan's swing away design (patent pending) is going to stay, and we'll be offering another configuration to make cage building a snap. Support for both 4x4 and 4x5.6 filters is imminent. You may not recognize the rest of it though :-)

On the twelfth day of Festivus my true love gave to me...

A Ballare Camera Dolly

Coupon Code DS10FS

The codes will remain active for a few more days until our Proteus Uno launch contest over Christmas. You guys will love this.

Cheers,
Dennis.

Dennis I have a set off Nikon F mount, ZF lenses

- I want to buy a canon 7d for my girlfriend and would like for her to be able to use my nikon lenses on it - how do I do that?

By using an F mount to EF mount adapter.
They are relatively inexpensive and can be found all over ebay.
I would suggest getting one for each lens, and also getting them with the AF confirm chip.

Good Luck!

The Zeiss ZF lenses don't have an auto focus system. So you don't need an adaptor with a chip in it. I just bought two of the Cinevate Nikon to EOS adaptors and they work great with my Zeiss ZFs and my 5D2.

I realize that Andrew, but in a critical focus situation, using the AF confirm chip adapter will cause the Canon to give a confirmation Beep when you are in focus. Sure it's not a necessary must have, but it sure comes in handy doing Time Lapse work at 3 am when it's dark out and your eyes are strained.

All the Best!
