Sorry if this is a stupid question.... but would the mini-primes work on an s35, to get ultrawide shots (assuming you had the right adapter)?

I'm just wondering if the mini-primes would become obsolete if I got a 2/3" then moved up the chain (I could sell them, of course).

I am 99.999% certain that the mini primes only cover the 2/3" sensor and would not come close to covering the s35 sensor.

I bet the mini primes would work great on the RED One and Epic-X when shooting 2K or similar sized sensor area. Although, why shoot 2K on those cameras when you can shoot 3K at the same imager size on Scarlet 2/3"???

True Jeff! Being abel to shoot in 3k and keep a consitant dop in low light is going to be such a useful tool for everyone.

Will Mini-Primes come in C mount also

With the good specs and mount on the Mini-Primes will they come in C mount versions as well?

There are many markets for high quality C mount 2/3" lenses, it would seem silly to restrict the use of the lenses to 2/3" Scarlet cameras, twice as many lenses or MORE could be sold if they come in C mount, and for people that purcahse the C mount scarlet they could also use the Mini-Primes without having to swap mounts in the field.

People with other 2/3" Cameras like Acam dII and SI-2K could purchase the C mount mini-primes, as could people who use 2/3" sensor cameras for Machine Vision (with focus and iris lock thumb screws added to the rings).

There is a big market for high quality lenses with the megapixel rating on sensors going up and up, there are no lenses that are rated for 10Megapixel on 2/3" as far as I have seen so far. There are even 10Megapixel sensors smaller than 2/3" that could use good lenses as well in C mount.

I guess it is physically possible to make a RED Mini-PL mount for the RED One so that the Mini Primes could be mounted, but don't go expecting that this will be happening anytime soon. How many do you think they'd ever sell?

Well, for one thing, because for at least the next 7-8 months, the Scarlet doesn't exist and the Red One does.
